Providence District is in the middle of Fairfax County and spans from Falls Church in the east to the Fairfax County Parkway in the west.  A long stretch of I-495 runs through Providence from the Dulles Toll Road in the north, past Rt 123, I-66, and Rt 50.  The southern part of Providence is bordered by Rt. 236 (Little River Turnpike) and wraps around the City of Fairfax.  Providence also wraps around the Town of Vienna and includes Merrifield, Oakton, and Tysons Corner.

Providence District has 25 precincts and a population of about 114,000.  Providence residents are represented by numerous elected officials, including two members of the U.S. House of Representatives (8th and 11th Districts), four Virginia state Senators (Senate 32nd, Senate 34th, Senath 35th, and Senate 37th), and four Virginia Delegates (House 35th, House 37th, House 41st, and House 53rd).
